Sofar Toronto

Saturday, March 21 @ 7:30 p.m.

Sofar Toronto

Sofar is an immersive live music experience that takes place in more than 300 cities across the globe every month. This month, they are heading to Toronto!

This intimate concert will feature three diverse acts at a secret location in the heart of downtown Toronto. The show transforms everyday spaces like retail stores, train stations or even someone’s living room into a unique venue that you won’t be able to stop talking about. Many of the details surrounding this exclusive event are kept under wraps, so your night will be an exciting surprise from beginning to end!

To get in, you and up to nine friends must enter Sofar’s ticket lottery before March 16th. If you end up being one of the lucky chosen after requesting your tickets, you’ll be redirected to the purchase page. The price is definitely right - tickets only cost $20 per person!

The address of Sofar’s top-secret location will be provided to you the day before the show.

Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival

March 4 – 15, 2020

Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival

For the 15th year running, Toronto’s longest-running comedy festival is returning this month for 12 days of laughs and outrageous performances. The 15th Annual TOsketchfest is happening at Comedy Bar, the Theatre Centre, and The Streetcar Crowsnest and will feature dozens of acts hailing from cities across North America.

This year the festival will offer a combination of solo acts and comedy troupes, including Anesti Danelis, Hackett & Langdon, Selena Vyle Takeover, Dead Parents Society, Girl Brain and more.

If you think you’ve got the chops, you can even participate in one of TOsketchfest’s Learning & Fun workshops. You may have the chance to be featured on CBC, Netflix, and Crave! This year, some of the workshops will cover disability in comedy, sketch comedy writing, what to do when your show gets cancelled, and a one-on-one director session with world-renowned director Rob Baker!

Tickets range from $2 to $5 per ticket.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

March 15, 2020 @ 12 p.m.

Begin your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations early at Toronto’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The route will begin on the corner of Queens Park and Bloor Street West. From there, it will head east on Bloor Street, south on Yonge and finally west on Queen Street, where it will end at the review stand at Nathan Phillips Square.

If you’re wondering where the best place might be to stand and watch, there is easy access to the parade route from a variety of TTC subway stations, including St. George, Bloor & Yonge, Wellesley, College, Dundas and Queen. After the parade, the review stand will host live entertainment, local dignitaries and the event’s 2020 Grand Marshal, Gavin Tighe.

National Home Show

March 13 - 22, 2020

If home décor and renovations are your game, you won’t want to miss the National Home Show being held at the Enercare Centre this month. Co-located with Canada Blooms, this home show is the largest North American display of products and great deals for all things home and garden.

If you’ve been planning any kind of work around the home, you probably won’t find another chance like this one to meet so many talented vendors under one roof. The show will feature “inspiration” exhibits on kitchens, tiny homes, innovative bathroom ideas and more, so you can get to work collecting ideas for your own dream home. There will also be DIY workshops and expert speakers.

Tickets cost $20 for adults, $17 for seniors, $16 for students and children under 12 get in for free. Don’t forget to check out the Canada Blooms flower and garden show while you’re there!

Toronto Comicon

March 20 - 22, 2020

Nerds, rejoice, it’s that time of year again! It’s time to get your cosplay on, connect with pop culture’s biggest names and maybe even bring home some merch from your favourite movies, comic books and TV shows.

Toronto Comicon 2020 is coming to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for 3 epic days near the end of March. Fans will be dressed up as their favourite characters, so if you’ve ever wanted a photo with the infamous Darth Vader or perhaps a certain Doctor, now may be your chance!

Celebrity appearances will include Kathy Najimy, Michael Biehn, Adam Baldwin, Chris Bachalo (the writer behind Marvel’s Deadpool comics) and many more! Get tickets for a meet and greet with any one of these iconic celebrities, where you’ll be able to get an autograph or a photo op to keep as a souvenir.

Adult tickets range from $20–$95, depending on the package you choose. For a three-day pass (not including meet and greets), you can still take advantage of the $50 early bird price until March 6.

Canada Blooms

March 13 - 22, 2020

Head down to the Enercare Centre to attend Canada’s largest flower and garden festival this month. Feast your eyes (and nose) on hundreds of blooms at the festival’s garden displays and exhibits – you’ll feel like spring is already here. You can attend demos, workshops and guest panels dedicated to all things garden related. Have you ever made a terrarium? Now you can! You can also learn to plant medicinal herbs or build a bird feeder.

Not to worry, parents, this event is family-friendly. It will include a variety of children’s workshops that will keep them thoroughly entertained so you can stop and smell the flowers. Literally. Plus, your kids can come for free. Kids workshops include Plants for Birds, Succulent Succulents, Bird Nests and many more.

Adult passes cost $20, and seniors pay $17. You can also get a two-day pass for $20.

Canada Blooms will be held in conjunction with the National Home Show. The two events will be sharing a venue, so make sure to check out both to get the most out of the experience.

Toronto Blue Jays Home Opener

March 26, 2020 @ 3 p.m.

The Toronto Blue Jays, Canada’s only Major League Baseball team, is opening the season with a bang this year with a four-game home series against their division rival, the Boston Red Sox.

It’s gearing up to be an exciting season. The team is looking to take a giant leap from last year with the debut of Nate “The Great” Pearson and new draft picks such as Alek Manoah, Jordan Groshans, Adam Kloffenstein, among others are projected to make a pretty big splash this season.

SpringFestTO

March 16 – 24, 2020

We can’t wait to unleash our inner child at SpringFestTO, coming up at the Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place. This event will be jam-packed with rides, games, fair food, a petting zoo and various exhibits that will be a blast for the whole family.

Visit the Wacky Shack, go for a spin in the Teacups, ride the Sizzler or go head-to-head in the bumper cars. Plus, new this year is the Dinosaur Exhibit. Take the kids on a trip back in time to 65 million years ago when giants walked the earth. The realistic, life-sized statues will inspire awe as you learn all about life in the Mesozoic Era.
